Many websites offer services of domain registration, and the domain administration panels can differ significantly from one another. Here is an example of domain validation on Godaddy.com. Furthermore, this is the same process on NIC.lv.
When using this type of domain validation, You delegate the domain zone to our servers. This means that You should create only the NS record in Your administration panel located on the domain registry web site, other records will be automatically created at the Inbox.eu server and will be available to You in the Inbox.eu administrative panel.
- Open Inbox.eu domain’s e-mail and find a letter from the Inbox.eu titled "How to validate a domain on Inbox.eu" to begin domain validation. You will need these details:
- Login to your domain registrar’s GoDaddy.com website with the username and password that you obtained when purchasing the domain:
- Choose "Products" section and click on the "DOMAINS"
- Start managing the domain You want - press "Manage" button next to the domain name you need
- Choose "SETTINGS" and then press "Manage" in a section of "Nameservers":
6. In nameserver settings you will see a standard setup type for godaddy hosting, so here you have to choose "Custom" in place of "Standard":
7. When chosen "Custom", press "Add nameserver":
8. In a new window enter ns1.inbox.eu and ns2.inbox.eu and press "Ok".
9. Sign out of Your godaddy.com profile.
10. You will have to wait at least 2 hours (while system renews the "cache") to check whether the domain validation has been successful.
11. Use Your username and password obtained during the registration process at Inbox.eu page to enter the administrative panel for domain’s e-mail (enter "My domains" section by pressing the button "My domains" in a mailbox, under the list of folders on the left side of the screen). Select "Home", which has a table with four validation methods and click the button "Recheck my domain":
12. In case the validation was successful, You will see a notification with confirmation, and domain status shall appear as "Validated".
If the validation wasn’t successful, then You will see a notification about failure above the validation methods’ table.
Attention! Remember that any validation method requires at least 2 hours to wait after, but it can be even longer! If you click the button "Recheck my domain" before the lapse of time it takes for the system to renew the "cache", You will see a notification of failed validation.
Wait for some time and check domain status again by pressing the "Recheck my domain". If the validation is still showing as failed - check if all records have been entered accurately.
However, if You cannot complete the validation process with this method, try another one.
13. In the event of successful validation You will receive confirmation letter to Your domain’s e-mail stating that Your domain has been validated, and You can continue to use the domain e-mail at Inbox.eu to the utmost.
