Access to mailbox via POP3 / IMAP and SMTP servers can automatically switch off in these cases:

 

  1. If your password was hacked and your account is being used to distribute spam. In this case, on your e-mail can come letters from "Mail Delivery System". Before you set on the settings (open the mailbox of e-mail protocols) you necessarily have to change the password secret question and answer to it.
  2. If you exceed the limit of sent messages per day (on Inbox service)
  3. Perhaps your mailbox became inactive
  4. If the user within two months didn’t use POP3 / IMAP protocols

Check the access to the mailbox through POP3 / IMAP / SMTP protocols. Sometimes this option can automatically switch off. If you (or anyone else) changed your mailbox password then it needs to be restored also in e-mail program.

 

Make sure you enter the correct password - try to enter the mailbox through the web home page. If you can get new messages but you cannot send them then the error is in a SMTP settings. Perhaps it is necessary to turn on authorization regime to outgoing SMTP server.

 

! ! If you can send messages, but cannot get them then the problem is on POP3 or IMAP settings. If you are are not able to independently solve the problem, contact us your question, add a screen image where is visible incoming and outgoing server settings of your mail program, and specify the mailbox address, which encountered these problems.

If you are using the POP3 protocol, you must set the following settings:

 

POP3 (incoming mail server): mail.inbox.eu

  • Encryption: Must be turned on SSL
  • Port POP3: 995

SMTP (outgoing mail server): mail.inbox.eu

  • Encryption: Must be turned on TLS vai SSL
  • Ports SMTP: 587 (in case if you use TLS)
  • Ports SMTP: 465 (in case if you use SSL)

 

If you are using the IMAP protocol, you must set the following settings:

 

IMAP (incoming mail server): mail.inbox.eu

  • Encryption: Must be turned on SSL
  • Ports IMAP: 993

SMTP (outgoing mail server): mail.inbox.eu

  • Encryption: Must be turned on TLS or SSL
  • Ports SMTP: 587 (in case if you use TLS)
  • Ports SMTP: 465 (in case if you use SSL)
     

! ! ! Absolutely necessary: Allow access to your mailbox through POP3 / IMAP / SMTP protocols. By default it is turned off. In mail program settings, you need to set an authorization mode to outgoing SMTP mail server.

! ! ! Make sure that field ''username'' contains the full e-mail name, such as 12345@inbox.eu
